Lead and asbestos are yet another menace wreaking havoc in the daily lives of ordinary people. Lead poisoning is a medical condition caused by increased levels of lead in blood of human beings and increased use of asbestos can cause asbestosis which is caused when asbestos is inhaled. Though both of them are highly valuable metals and are used extensively for a number of things, the pitfalls related to them aren’t far behind. Increased levels of lead in blood can cause nervous breakdown and blood disorders. The ill-effects of lead and asbestos are umpteen in number. Exposure to high levels of lead can severely impair one’s nervous system and may adversely impact one’s blood pressure too. During pregnancy, it can also cause miscarriage among women. CSI has pioneered the initiative to voice their concern regarding the excessive use of lead and asbestos in construction works and for manufacturing other heat-resistant appliances. Downplaying the ill-effects and disorders caused by these two metals isn’t the right thing to do especially when the number of cases reported and registered for lead poisoning and asbestosis are unrelenting. One must realize that lead and asbestos are extremely harmful and all must join hands in dissuading the industrial sector against the use of these two toxic substances.
